Enrica Rocca, born and raised in Venice, has Italian food in her blood and a contagious zest for life. After having graduated from the famous Hotel School of Lausanne, she brought up her two daughters and ran two Italian restaurants in Cape Town for 11 years, before making the big move to London in 2002
In London, she opened an Italian cookery school like no other, with an inspired mixture of shopping, cooking and eating that has captivated Londoners since her arrival in the city. After being voted top 10 cookery schools in the world by Gourmet Magazine and having experienced a wonderful success in London, she decided to return to her roots and moved back to Venice, opening a second branch of the cookery school there. The school, housed in the family palazzo gives clients the chance to spend the day as a true Venetian, discovering the freshest local seafood at Rialto Market before returning to Enrica’s kitchen to enjoy a day of warmth, humor, local Veneto wines and delicious food. Dishes always comprise just two or three ingredients, chosen well, cooked simply and brought to the table with Gusto.
As for London, It is no wonder that Enrica’s daughters, having grown up surrounded by food made using only the best and freshest ingredients, stepped forward in 2014 to continue running the London Cookery School. Wiser than their years when it comes to all things culinary, you will learn a lot from this enthusiastic duo who’s passion for sharing good food is inspiring and their teaching style is as seen in a typical Italian home, with lots of chatter over the chopping and the occasional chink of a wine glass being refilled
This is what Enrica Rocca’s cookery school is all about - friendly, lively and really rather brilliantly flamboyant.
